The 24th European symposium on Ultrasound Contrast Imaging is held from 17-18 January 2019 in the Hilton Hotel, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Latest developments on ultrasound contrast agent imaging in both the clinic and research are presented. Topics in previous editions covered safety, clinical cases, therapy, drug delivery, vascular imaging, molecular imaging, imaging techniques, and technology. The conference is well known for its good organization in a small-scale setting, which invites for lively discussions between the participants throughout the day. Special attention is given to young investigators during the poster presentations. Prices are awarded for best clinical and technical poster. The deadline for submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations is Friday November 23th, 2018. For more information, registration and abstract submission, please contact  Mieke Pruijsten.

We hope to welcome you to Rotterdam in january 2019 for an inspiring 24th symposium.

  • 6. New potential clinical applications

On Friday Afternoon: Competition Image guided therapy
Award: € 1000,-

Treatment of diseases in the human body, such as cancer and cardiovascular disease, is increasingly tuned to the individual patient. In-situ monitoring of treatment with direct feedback is therefore essential. This year’s competition will be on image guided therapy with microbubbles.

Competition topics:

  • - Contrast-enhanced functional imaging such as perfusion and molecular imaging
  • - Passive acoustic monitoring and mapping.
  • - Therapy-responsive ultrasound contrast agent behaviour.
  • … and any other image guided therapy with ultrasound contrast agents.

Information:

  • - Oral presentation of 10 minutes
  • - Eligible participants:all ages
  • - The preferred slide aspect ratio of the presentations is 4:3
  • - The preferred used video input is HDMI
  • - Abstract deadline: 23 November 2018 [indicate ‘competition abstract’]
