The 23rd European symposium on Ultrasound Contrast Imaging is held from 18-19 January 2018 in the Hilton Hotel, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Latest developments on ultrasound contrast agent imaging in both the clinic and research are presented. Topics in previous editions covered safety, clinical cases, therapy, drug delivery, vascular imaging, molecular imaging, imaging techniques, and technology. The conference is well known for its good organization in a small-scale setting, which invites for lively discussions between the participants throughout the day. Special attention is given to young investigators during the poster presentations. Prices are awarded for best clinical and technical poster. The deadline for submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations is December 1th, 2017. For more information, registration and abstract submission, please contact  Mieke Pruijsten.

We hope to welcome you to Rotterdam in january 2018 for an inspiring 23rd symposium.

The Organizing Committee: Nico de Jong, Folkert ten Cate, Rik Vos, Klazina Kooiman, and Arend Schinkel
The Scientific Board: Mike Averkiou, Mark Borden, Paolo Colonna, Olivier Couture, Beat Kaufman, and Eleanor Stride

A "Young Investigators Award" poster prize will also be presented
The symposium includes the following topics:

  • 1. Contrast agents in Radiology and Cardiology
  • 2. New imaging modalities
  • 3. Drug delivery
  • 4. Tissue targeted imaging
  • 5. Competing Technologies
  • 6. New potential clinical applications

On Friday Afternoon: Competition on Nanodroplets
Award: 1000,-

Contrast agents were introduced 30 years ago and are now more and more used in daily clinical routine for optimal diagnosis. Up to now the contrast agents were based on gas-filled microparticles. Recently a new class of agents are under investigation, nanodroplets. Therefore, on Friday afternoon in the last session of the conference, we will focus on these .

Abstracts can be submitted on:

  • - Simulations, in vitro or in vivo experiments
  • - Nanodroplet production, acoustic vaporisation, imaging, and mechanisms.
Information:

  • - Oral presentation of 10 minutes
  • - Elligible participants:all ages
  • - Abstract deadline: 1 December 2017
